Sri Lankan woman found Dead in Australia under mysterious circumstances

A Sri Lankan woman was found dead at a rural property in the Latrobe Valley in the Australian state of Victoria, in an incident police are investigating as a suspected murder-suicide.

According to Australian media reports, the bodies of 47-year-old Chamindika Jayawardena and her partner, 46-year-old Aaron Hammond, were discovered inside a house on McGraths Track in Hernes Oak, near Morwell, earlier this week.

Emergency services were called to the property at around 12.15 p.m., where the two bodies were found inside the residence.

Neighbours told media that they had heard two loud bangs on Saturday night but initially believed the sounds were fireworks or gunshots aimed at foxes.

Victoria Police said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths. Authorities confirmed that the man and woman were known to each other and said they are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
