A Sri Lankan national who had overstayed his visa by around nine months was arrested during a pre-dawn operation conducted by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

The 27-year-old man was detained on Thursday (08) during an enforcement raid targeting immigration offenders.

Authorities said he had remained in Singapore after his social visit pass expired on June 28, 2025.

The operation, which began early in the morning, involved surveillance teams and officers who verified the suspect’s identity and immigration status before making the arrest under the Immigration Act.
