
Sri Lankan professionals are playing a significant role in the regional healthcare sector through their contributions to the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Services Group’s development centre in Colombo, a partnership that is opening new avenues for investment and collaboration.
During a recent visit, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Foreign Employment Vijitha Herath met with the group’s top management to discuss expanding cooperation in healthcare and medical tourism.
Minister Herath also toured the group’s state-of-the-art medical facility, which incorporates cutting-edge technology and AI-driven healthcare systems, highlighting opportunities for knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and innovation between Sri Lanka and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Both sides expressed a shared interest in exploring strategic investments and joint ventures aimed at strengthening Sri Lanka’s position as a regional hub for healthcare and medical tourism, while also expanding the contribution of Sri Lankan expertise in the field of global medical technology development.
