A Sri Lankan youth working in Sharjah, Dubai, has died under suspicious circumstances, authorities confirmed.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Deelaka Perera, a resident of Kottunna and a former student of Bomiriya College, Kaduwela.
According to reports, Perera was found collapsed near an apartment building in Sharjah two days ago and was rushed to a hospital by security personnel, where he later passed away. The exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that a post-mortem examination is scheduled for Monday to ascertain the cause of death.
As the circumstances surrounding his death appear suspicious, Perera’s family has urged authorities to ensure a thorough and fair investigation into the incident.
