Sri Lankan designer Chathuri Samaraweera made history at Paris Fashion Week 2025, becoming the first Sri Lankan designer to present a collection at the prestigious international event.
Her Spring/Summer 2026 collection, titled “Balearic Dreaming,” captivated audiences with its elegant fusion of soft blues, rose-golds, and vibrant aquatic tones, inspired by the beauty of the Balearic Islands.
The show, held at Hotel Le Marois in Paris, brought together more than a hundred fashion industry professionals and partners.
In a statement, the Sri Lankan Embassy in France hailed it as a proud milestone for the nation’s fashion industry and congratulated Chathuri, Founder and Artistic Director of ANAYA Collection, for showcasing her exceptional womenswear designs.
The Embassy noted that Samaraweera’s journey from Sri Lanka to the global fashion stage reflects her vision, artistry, and perseverance, marking a new chapter for Sri Lankan creativity on the world stage.
