
Sri Lankan mountaineer Johann Peries has made history as the first Sri Lankan to summit Mount Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica.
Peries is on a mission to climb the tallest mountain on each of the seven continents, a prestigious mountaineering challenge known as the Seven Summits.
In 2018, he became the second Sri Lankan to reach the summit of Mount Everest, marking a significant milestone in his mountaineering journey.
So far, Peries has successfully scaled four of the world’s highest peaks: Mount Kosciuszko in Australia, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Elbrus in Europe, and Mount Everest in Asia.
His recent achievement at Mount Vinson brings him closer to completing the Seven Summits challenge, showcasing his dedication and adventurous spirit.
