Sri Lankan athlete Rumesh Tharanga delivered the best javelin throw performance recorded in the world so far this year at the Perth Track Classic Athletics Championships in Australia.
Competing in the men’s javelin event, Rumesh achieved an impressive throw of 85.41 meters, marking the best performance of the year globally.
However, despite this achievement, he narrowly missed the direct qualification mark for the World Athletics Championships in Japan, falling short by just 9 centimeters.
