Tharushi Abhisheka Premasiri won a gold medal for Sri Lanka in the women’s 800m event at the 6th Asian Youth Athletics Championships held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Shavindu Avishka claimed a bronze medal in the men’s 800m event, finishing with a time of 1:53.41.
Dilki Nehara secured a bronze medal in the women’s triple jump event by finishing third.
Nethya Sampath also earned a bronze medal in the men’s high jump competition.
The Sri Lankan medley relay team won a silver medal and set a new national record by finishing second.
