Sri Lanka has welcomed the Global Development, Security, and Civilisation Initiatives, along with the Global Governance Initiative, proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Plus meeting in Tianjin, Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath said.
In a post on X, he stated, “I took note positively of the Global Development, Security, and Civilisation Initiatives, as well as the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping at the SCO Plus meeting in Tianjin. These initiatives are founded on the principles of sovereign equality, rule of law, multilateralism, people-centred development, and action-oriented cooperation.”
