Sri Lanka and Vietnam have signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and one bilateral agreement in the presence of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong.
The signing took place following bilateral discussions at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi earlier this morning, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
Among the key agreements is a bilateral pact focused on enhancing cooperation and mutual support in Customs affairs between the two countries.
The MoUs include cooperation in machinery and equipment manufacturing between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, and an MoU on agricultural collaboration between the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Sri Lanka’s Department of Agriculture.
Additionally, MoUs were signed between the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute (BIDTI) and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, as well as between the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and the Sri Lanka Export Development Board to boost trade promotion.
These agreements aim to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration through joint academic programs, training, and conferences, while also promoting trade via shared market intelligence, participation in trade fairs, and networking events for the private sector.
