Sri Lanka and the UAE are set to sign a mutual investment promotion and security agreement during President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s official visit to the UAE.
The agreement aims to strengthen FDI regulations, foster an investor-friendly environment, and ensure legal protection for investors from both nations, enhancing bilateral trade and investment ties.
Cabinet Spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayathissa confirmed that the proposal has received clearance from the Attorney General’s Department.
Following this clearance, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism to formalize the agreement during the President’s participation in the World Government Summit in 2025.
