Sri Lanka U19 women to tour Australia for Tri-series

Australia will host England and Sri Lanka in a nine-match Under-19 Women’s Tri-Series from April 6 to 18, with matches scheduled in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The series will feature both 50-over and T20 formats as part of efforts to develop emerging women cricketers and provide valuable international exposure.

Tegan Williamson will captain the Australia U19 side, supported by Emily Powell and Ayaka Stafford in the leadership group. Williamson has previously represented Australia at the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

The tri-series will also mark the first assignment for former Australian captain Meg Lanning in her new role as Development Coach, working alongside Head Coach Kristen Beams.

Matches will be played at Ian Healy Oval and Bill Pippen Oval, offering young players experience across different conditions and formats.

According to Cricket Australia, the tri-series is part of its long-term strategy to strengthen women’s cricket pathways and prepare players for future international competitions.
