Sri Lanka welcomed 196,845 international tourists in July 2026, bringing total arrivals for the year to 1,343,418.
Although July’s figure was slightly lower than the 200,244 arrivals recorded in July 2025, the tourism sector continues to recover steadily after travel disruptions linked to Middle East tensions earlier this year.
India remained Sri Lanka’s largest tourism market, contributing 44,547 visitors during the month.
The United Kingdom ranked second with 21,834 arrivals, while the Netherlands secured third place with 12,493 visitors.
Tourism officials say the latest figures highlight the country’s resilience and continued appeal as a leading travel destination in South Asia.
The strong year-to-date performance keeps Sri Lanka on track for another successful year, supporting economic growth and the country’s vital tourism industry.
