Sri Lanka to see warmer March and April

Sri Lanka, currently experiencing dry conditions, is expected to continue for the next two weeks with low rainfall.

There is also a possibility of higher temperatures compared to last year during March and April, according to an official from the Department of Meteorology.

Meteorologist Malith Fernando told the Daily Mirror that heat waves may increase in the coming months.

He explained that, due to the rapid rise in global warming, heat waves could become more frequent during this time of year in the future.

The current dry spell is a seasonal condition that will persist for a few weeks, with the country’s average rainfall remaining low.

Fernando noted that, due to climate change, the temperature tends to rise slightly each year from March to April, and this trend is expected to continue, though an official report on the weather patterns has yet to be conducted.
