The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs announced a program to rapidly reconstruct Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers damaged by the recent disaster in the country.
According to the Ministry, 784 ECD centers were affected, with 78 completely destroyed. Among the damaged centers, 127 are in Puttalam, 68 in Gampaha, 63 in Mullaitivu, and 48 in Mannar districts.
The Ministry has also instructed that ECD centers, which were temporarily closed due to adverse weather, be reopened next Tuesday.
