
Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vijitha Herath, held discussions with Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), on the sidelines of the TOURISE Global Summit 2025 in Riyadh.
During the meeting, Minister Herath expressed Sri Lanka’s deep appreciation for the SFD’s longstanding development assistance and its continued support during the country’s recent economic challenges.
He emphasized Sri Lanka’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation with the SFD in the years ahead, recognizing the Fund’s vital role in supporting the nation’s development initiatives.
Following the discussion, Minister Herath shared a message on X (formerly Twitter), stating that he conveyed Sri Lanka’s gratitude for the SFD’s continued disbursement of funds during difficult times and reaffirmed the country’s intention to enhance collaboration with the organization.
Minister Herath is currently in Riyadh to attend the TOURISE Global Summit 2025, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Tourism from 11th to 13th of November .
