
Sri Lanka is set to achieve its highest-ever tourist arrivals for January, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.
By 31st of January approximately 253,000 tourists are expected to have visited the country based on current trends.
From 1st to 26th of January a total of 212,838 tourists arrived, with an average of 8,000 visitors per day.
The previous January record was in 2018, with 238,924 tourist arrivals.
India remains the top source of tourists this year, followed by Russia.
The United Kingdom, Germany, and China complete the top five markets for Sri Lanka’s tourism in January.
