The National Dengue Control Unit has reported 15 dengue-related deaths so far this year, amid a sharp rise in cases across the country.

Consultant Community Physician Dr. Prashola Samaraweera stated that a total of 27,702 dengue cases have been recorded island-wide, with the Western Province reporting the highest number at 4,702.
Sri Lanka is currently experiencing an average of around 1,300 new dengue cases per week.
In response to the growing threat, health authorities will launch a nationwide mosquito eradication campaign from June 30 to July 5.
The program will target 101 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions across 16 districts.
