Sri Lanka records 80,000 tourist arrivals in May

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has announced that 80,421 tourists arrived in the country during the first 18 days of May.

Of this, 27,036 visitors were from India, making up 33.6% of the total arrivals.

Other key source markets included the United Kingdom (5,486), Germany (5,164), China (5,189), and Bangladesh (3,863).

With the latest figures, total tourist arrivals in 2025 have reached 977,305.

India continues to lead with 184,095 arrivals, followed by Russia with 109,675 and the UK with 92,539.
