
Officers of the Sri Lanka Police have contributed Rs. 50 million—equivalent to one day’s salary—to the Government’s ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund, which was established to restore livelihoods and rebuild the country in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah.
The cheque was formally handed over yesterday (06) at the Presidential Secretariat by the Inspector General of Police, Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasooriya, to the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.
Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security and former Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ravi Seneviratne, was also present at the event.
