

Sri Lankan students will soon have free access to Google’s Gemini Advanced research tools and other digital resources, the Ministry of Digital Economy announced yesterday.

Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne unveiled the initiative at the National AI Expo 2025 in Colombo, describing it as “a game changer” for the country’s education sector.
He emphasized that the program represents a significant step in building Sri Lanka’s AI capabilities, leveling the playing field and giving students the opportunity to compete globally.
