The preliminary round of discussions for Sri Lanka’s fourth review under the IMF loan program is set to conclude yesterday.
IMF representatives have spent the past week in the country, engaging in a series of meetings with the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, and other key government institutions.
These discussions are expected to pave the way for a staff-level agreement between Sri Lanka and the IMF.
Once finalized, Sri Lanka is likely to receive the fifth loan tranche, amounting to USD 335 million, as part of the ongoing financial support package.
