Sri Lanka included in UAE visa rule requiring mandatory police clearance

Sri Lanka has been included in a new visa regulation introduced by the United Arab Emirates, requiring applicants from certain countries to obtain a mandatory police clearance certificate.

Under the revised rule, Sri Lankan nationals applying for UAE visas must submit a valid police clearance report confirming they have no criminal record.

Authorities said the measure is aimed at strengthening security screening procedures and ensuring that individuals entering the UAE meet legal and safety requirements.

The new requirement is expected to impact prospective travellers, particularly those seeking employment opportunities, as additional documentation will now be needed during the visa application process.

Officials have advised applicants to obtain the necessary clearance in advance to avoid delays, while also ensuring compliance with the updated immigration regulations.
