Sri Lanka holds tourism roadshow in Saudi after 10 years

Sri Lanka recently hosted a tourism promotion roadshow in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, marking the first such event in a decade.

Organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Riyadh in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, this was the second roadshow of its kind.

The event attracted a large number of Destination Management Companies (DMCs), with 20 Sri Lankan DMCs participating in a networking session with their Saudi counterparts.

Sri Lankan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ameer Ajwad, highlighted the Eastern Province as a strong potential market for promoting Sri Lankan tourism.

During the event, the Embassy also launched a new Arabic-language Snapchat account named “Jannat Dunya” (Paradise on Earth), aimed at boosting Sri Lanka’s tourism visibility in the region.
