The new Sri Lankan Cabinet of Ministers has officially reaffirmed the country’s longstanding commitment to the “One China Policy.”
This decision was confirmed following the submission of a report by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism at this week’s Cabinet meeting.
Under the “One China Policy,” Sri Lanka recognizes the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as the sole legitimate government of China and acknowledges Taiwan as a province of China.
The Cabinet emphasized that this position remains a cornerstone of Sri Lanka’s foreign policy.
Sri Lanka’s reaffirmation of the policy reflects its consistent stance on international diplomacy regarding China and Taiwan.
The Cabinet’s statement signals Sri Lanka’s continued support for China’s territorial integrity.
