Sri Lanka has risen to 193rd place in the latest FIFA World Rankings, reflecting a steady improvement in the national football team’s performance over the past year.
According to FIFA’s October 2025 update, Sri Lanka now holds 862.17 points, a significant climb from its previous position of 205th, marking one of the team’s best rankings in recent years.
The improvement comes on the back of strong performances in international tournaments, including a mix of wins and competitive draws in recent qualification matches.
Notably, Sri Lanka’s victory over Turkmenistan in the Asian Cup qualifiers earlier this month played a key role in boosting the team’s ranking points and global standing.
