According to a recent MakeMyTrip report, Sri Lanka has emerged as the third most booked international destination among Indian travellers during the festive season, trailing only Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The findings are based on booking trends analysed for the period from December 20 to January 2026, compared with the same timeframe last year, and indicate a growing preference for Sri Lanka as a travel destination.
Thailand topped the list, with the UAE in second place. Vietnam showed a significant rise in popularity, climbing from seventh position last year to fourth this year. Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Hong Kong completed the top ten destinations.
