Sri Lanka earns US$ 2.65 billion from tourism in first ten months of 2025

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has reported that total tourism earnings for the first ten months of 2025 reached US$ 2,659 million.

According to the CBSL, tourism earnings for October 2025 alone amounted to US$ 186.1 million. This reflects a 4.9% increase compared to the US$ 2,533.7 million recorded during the same period in 2024.

Meanwhile, data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) show that 1,972,957 tourists arrived in the country between January and November 12, 2025.

Of these visitors, 443,622 were from India, 180,592 from the United Kingdom, 144,308 from Russia, 123,053 from Germany, and 115,400 from China, according to the SLTDA.

Additionally, 82,270 foreign tourists arrived in Sri Lanka between 1st and 12th November 2025.
