Sri Lanka draws 800,000+ tourists in 2025

Sri Lanka has welcomed 816,191 foreign tourists so far this year, indicating a strong start for the tourism industry.

A significant number of these visitors have arrived from India, making it the leading source of tourists to the island.

In just the first 15 days of this month, 93,915 tourists visited Sri Lanka, according to the Tourism Development Authority.

The tourism sector experienced a successful year in 2024, with a total of 2,053,465 foreign arrivals.

These figures reflect growing global interest in Sri Lanka as a travel destination and a continued recovery of the tourism industry.
