Sri Lanka customs records historic revenue, exceeding Rs. 2 trillion in 2025

Sri Lanka Customs has surpassed the Rs. 2 trillion mark in tax revenue collection for 2025, the highest ever recorded by a single government department, the Director General, Seevali Arukgoda, announced yesterday (30th).

She stated that the department is on track to meet its annual revenue target of Rs. 2.115 trillion, with Rs. 630 billion of the total generated from motor vehicle imports.

Sri Lanka Customs expressed confidence that it could exceed the annual target by approximately Rs. 300 billion by the end of the year.
