Sri Lanka Customs Department has generated Rs. 1.3737 trillion in revenue up to June 30 this year, exceeding its target for the first half of the year.

Customs Media Spokesman and Senior Director Chandana Punchihewa said the department has successfully surpassed its revenue goal for the first six months ending June 30.

The department was initially given a target of Rs. 1.0605 trillion, but it exceeded expectations by collecting an additional Rs. 313 billion.

For the full year 2026, Sri Lanka Customs has been assigned a revenue target of Rs. 2.206 trillion, and officials remain confident of achieving strong results if the current performance continues.

Punchihewa further stated that the department collected Rs. 31 billion within the first two days of July, out of a monthly target of Rs. 192.4 billion.

However, he noted that revenue from vehicle imports has declined due to ongoing restrictions on motor vehicle imports.
