Sri Lanka customs collects over Rs. 1 trillion in revenue in first half of 2025

Sri Lanka Customs has recorded revenue exceeding Rs. 1 trillion during the first six months of 2025, according to Media Spokesperson and Additional Director General Seevali Arukgoda.

Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo on July 3, Arukgoda stated that, based on current progress, Sri Lanka Customs is on track to surpass its annual revenue target.

The government has set a revenue goal of Rs. 2.115 trillion for Customs in 2025. Arukgoda attributed the strong performance to successful restructuring of revenue collection mechanisms within the department.
