Global travel platform ‘Big 7 Travel’ has officially released its 2025 list of the world’s top 50 islands, ranking Sri Lanka as the Most Beautiful Island in the World.
The annual list features stunning destinations from around the globe and celebrates unique island experiences and inspiring places to explore in 2025.
This year’s ranking combines trending destinations, remote escapes, and iconic favorites, based on aggregated media scores, editorial input from the Big 7 Travel team, social media popularity, and destinations currently captivating travelers’ attention.
Sri Lanka claimed the top spot, followed by Mo’orea in French Polynesia, Socotra in Yemen, the Portuguese island of Madeira, and the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador, rounding out the top five.
Describing Sri Lanka, the travel site noted, “This teardrop-shaped island off the southern coast of India has it all, from golden beaches to terraced tea plantations. Beach-hopping along its 833-mile coastline is a delight, but the island’s true charm lies in its rich diversity beyond the shore.”
