
The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, Nayyar Naseer, held discussions with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the continued support and cooperation extended by the Government of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, particularly in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah.
Both sides reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, highlighting ties based on mutual respect, shared interests, and close diplomatic relations, according to the Prime Minister’s Media Division.
The discussions also emphasized expanding cooperation in key sectors such as education, tourism, and sports, with the aim of further strengthening people-to-people connections and creating new opportunities for collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan Zunaira Latif, Secretary to the Prime Minister Pradeep Saputhanthri, Additional Secretary Sagarika Bogahawatta, along with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism.
