Spill gates opened at seven major reservoirs: no danger posed

The spill gates of seven major reservoirs have been opened. According to the Department of Irrigation, two spill gates at the Kala Wewa reservoir are currently open.

In addition, four spill gates at the Rajanganaya reservoir remain open. The department said one spill gate each has also been opened at the Polgolla, Rantambe, and Canyon reservoirs.

Furthermore, four spill gates at the Weheragala reservoir and six at the Bowatenna reservoir have been released.

The Department of Irrigation assured the public that there is no danger posed by the release.
