The Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, officially endorsed the certificate on the Foreign Loans (Repeal) Bill yesterday during a session in Parliament.
According to the Parliamentary Communications Department, the Bill was taken up for committee stage consideration following the Second Reading debate held earlier in the day.
It was then passed without amendments and without a vote after the Third Reading.
The Bill, originally presented to Parliament on May 8, 2025, during the First Reading, will now be enacted as the Foreign Loans (Repeal) Act, No. 6 of 2025.
