
The Sri Lankan Embassy in South Korea has urged Sri Lankan nationals to remain alert regarding the wildfires that started in Central Uiseong County.
In an official statement, the embassy advised Sri Lankans to avoid visiting wildfire-affected areas and to refrain from using flammable items, including barbecue equipment.

The wildfires, which have doubled in size since Wednesday, are being described as South Korea’s worst natural fire disaster, with at least 26 casualties and historic temples destroyed.
More than 81,500 acres have been burned or remain ablaze, making this the largest single forest fire in South Korea’s history.
