SLNS Suranimila arrives in Maldives for India–Sri Lanka–Maldives naval exercise

SLNS Suranimila arrived in the Maldives today (16) to take part in the Trilateral Maritime Exercise DOSTI XVII – 2026, hosted by the Maldives National Defence Force.

The Sri Lanka Navy vessel departed the Port of Colombo on January 14 and was ceremonially flagged off in keeping with traditional naval customs. The exercise will be conducted in Malé from January 16 to 19, with the participation of the navies of Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives.

DOSTI XVII – 2026 aims to further strengthen maritime security cooperation among the three nations, enhance interoperability, share best practices in maritime operations and address emerging challenges in the maritime domain.
