The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) has reported a significant increase in online scams during the festive season.
According to Chief Information Security Officer Nirosh Ananda, many complaints have been received about scammers calling consumers and falsely claiming they have won prizes. Additionally, there are reports of various fraudulent activities involving the misuse of AI technology.
Ananda urged the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to safeguard themselves against such scams and fraudulent incidents.
