
The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has announced a range of concessions for registered migrant workers returning to Sri Lanka.
According to an SLBFE notice, the support measures include:
- Financial assistance of up to Rs. 1 million for those aspiring to start or expand a business.
- Non-financial assistance valued up to Rs. 150,000 for individuals seeking self-employment or already engaged in it.
- Grants to support the development and promotion of existing successful businesses or industries.
- A one-time donation of stationery worth Rs. 10,000 for children completing their education at a public, private, or religious school.
- Educational tools valued up to Rs. 200,000 for children of returning migrant workers who earned less than US$300 and are pursuing higher education at public or private universities or institutes.
These initiatives aim to support the reintegration and economic stability of returning migrant workers and their families.
