Sri Lanka Air Force Deploys Bell 212 Fleet for Rapid Disaster Response
The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has boosted its emergency response efforts by deploying five Bell 212 helicopters to the Weerawila and Ratmalana air bases. The aircraft are actively conducting missions, reaching areas inaccessible by road to support rescue operations and deliver essential supplies.
Yesterday (27), SLAF crews safely rescued three individuals who had been stranded on the upper floor of a two-storey house in Mahawa Ella, following severe flooding caused by the overflow of the Deduru Oya.
