SL welcomes 200,000 tourists in just three weeks

Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals have reached 200,000 in the first three weeks of January, according to a study released by the Tourism Development Authority.

By January 22, 177,403 tourists had visited the island, with India contributing the largest number—30,840 arrivals.

Russian tourists followed closely with 25,608 visitors, while 14,959 tourists came from the United Kingdom.

Additionally, 6,851 Australian tourists visited Sri Lanka during the same period, maintaining similar numbers to last year.

The report also highlighted an increase in tourists from Poland, the Netherlands, and the United States compared to the same period in 2024.
