The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), under the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, has announced its participation in BioFach 2026, the world’s leading organic trade fair.
The event will take place from February 10 to 13, 2026, in Nuremberg, Germany, where Sri Lanka will showcase its certified organic products at a dedicated national pavilion.
BioFach is the largest international exhibition in the organic sector, providing a platform for exporters, buyers, and industry leaders to network, explore market trends, and promote organic products.
Through its participation, the EDB aims to boost global demand for Sri Lankan certified organic products, especially in the European Union (EU) region.
A special section of the pavilion will highlight Protected Geographical Indication (PGI)-certified Organic Ceylon Cinnamon, promoting Sri Lanka’s agricultural heritage and global reputation for high-quality organic products.
The EDB is now accepting applications from certified organic agricultural processors and exporters who meet EU Organic and SLS 1324 standards.
Eligible product categories include fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, coconut-based products, spices and spice mixtures, specialty foods, herbal beverages, and health supplements.
Participants are expected to cover the cost of space and booth construction, although the EDB will partially sponsor selected SMEs.
Interested exporters must submit their completed applications by July 11, 2025, to the Director, Export Agriculture Division, EDB. Application forms can be collected at the EDB office or downloaded from the official website.
