
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the signing of exchange papers and an amended debt restructuring agreement between the Government of Sri Lanka and Japan, including the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Following bilateral negotiations, Sri Lanka is required to finalize these agreements to complete the debt restructuring process with Japan after concluding discussions with the official creditor committee.
The Attorney General has approved the relevant documents, according to Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
The proposal, presented by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, was unanimously approved by the Cabinet.
