Sri Lanka has been named the world’s most family-friendly country for 2025 by Condé Nast Traveller, based on a new report.
The ranking comes from an immigration index launched by Remitly, a U.S.-based remittance company, which evaluates 82 countries across 24 key factors, including healthcare, economic stability, safety, and digital connectivity.
One major factor in the ranking is family-friendliness, which considers the quality and accessibility of education, as well as the cost of childcare.
Sri Lanka secured the top spot with a strong education system score of 0.7 out of 1.0 and an impressively low annual childcare cost of just $354.60—far lower than the U.S., which ranked 10th with a childcare cost of $16,439.40 per year.
