Sri Lanka has maintained its stance on doing business with India’s Adani Group and remains open to investment opportunities from the conglomerate, the country’s cabinet spokesperson stated on Tuesday.
Despite allegations against Adani Group’s chairman, Gautam Adani, and top executives of Adani Green—who were indicted by U.S. prosecutors last year for their alleged involvement in a $265 million bribery scheme in India—the group has denied any wrongdoing.
Sri Lanka has expressed that it is “unconcerned” by Adani’s dealings in other countries but remains firm on negotiating the purchasing costs of power generated from wind power projects. This includes the two proposed wind power projects from which Adani has withdrawn.
