The documents also highlighted millions of dollars in funding for LGBT causes globally, including $2 million for sex changes and activism in Guatemala, $1.1 million for an Armenian LGBT group, and $5.5 million for LGBT activism in Uganda.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk criticized the spending, calling it a “crazy waste” of tax money.
As part of the Trump administration’s efforts to overhaul the federal government, USAID is undergoing significant disruptions, including a planned merger with the State Department.
Employees have been told to stay out of the headquarters, career staff placed on leave, and international personnel recalled.
