Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), the proud winner of the 1996 Cricket World Cup and the 2014 T20 World Cup, has announced plans to launch a Merchandising Licensing Program to strengthen its global brand through officially licensed products.
To initiate this program, SLC is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from reputed and experienced sports brand licensing agencies with a strong international track record. The selected partners, to be appointed via a transparent and competitive tender process, will manage the Merchandising Licensing Program from 2026 to 2032.
The licensing agent(s) will be tasked with onboarding well-established vendors to design, produce, and distribute a wide range of officially licensed SLC-branded and co-branded products. These will include apparel, accessories, collectibles, and other merchandise.
Key responsibilities of the licensing agent(s) include:
- Advising SLC on licensing business models
- Identifying and evaluating potential vendors
- Leading negotiations with vendors
- Managing vendor performance and relationships
- Ensuring timely royalty reporting and revenue collection
Applicants may express interest in various roles, such as Global Market Agent, Territory-Based Agent, or Category-Based Agent (e.g., apparel, accessories, collectibles).
SLC has published the EOI call on its official website (www.srilankacricket.lk), inviting applications only from organizations with proven expertise, strong infrastructure, and financial and operational capability to manage multi-category, multi-territory programs.
