Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) MP Prasad Siriwardana publicly apologized today to Government MP Lakmali Hemachandra for the rude remarks he made in Parliament yesterday.
MP Siriwardana explained that he became aggressive after his microphone was disconnected while he was speaking.
The confrontation occurred when MP Siriwardana claimed that Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake would be the next President, prompting MP Hemachandra to accuse him of insulting incumbent President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Both MPs were seen exchanging heated words during the incident.
