Several members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) have lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department, calling for an investigation into an alleged voice recording linked to the coal tender process.
SJB MP Mujibur Rahman stated that the recording suggests the tender may have been awarded to an associate of the President.
Another SJB representative, Waruna Rajapaksha, said the complaint focuses on alleged irregularities in the awarding of spot tenders for coal under the current administration.
He further claimed that the recording indicates individuals involved in the transaction were subjected to pressure from a senior authority, raising concerns about transparency and due process in the tender procedure.
